Why is NANA rated M and share your opinion on the show 
?
When I was at the store looking for animes and manga series to watch
I stumbled across NANA. But I noticed the Parental Advisory sticker on both the manga and anime. The show seems pretty popular (for not being main stream) and sounds really good so I watched a few episodes online to try to see why it may have the Mature rating.
I know that you wouldn't be able to tell from the first 2 episodes why the rating is 18+ but now I really want to finish watching it and read
it. I'd prefer to buy the DVDs over watching fan subs online but I know that my parents would catch me buying it and freaking out saying I was trying to buy a Porno hetai manga or show...
Basically I'd like to know why the rating is so high and please be specific.
And I bet that the
is different, and if so what makes the rating high on individually
I don't mind if you give spoilers
NANA is rated mature because it has mild sexual content and situations... It deals with everything in the life of adults... In future chapters there's drug use, pregnancy, male prostitution and the like... It's pretty complicated if you're not mature enough to understand the drama, comedy and angst that adults face when they've reached a certain age...
On a side note... NANA has been licenced for American audience but dubs are not available yet so I suggest you watch them with subtitles.. Besides it's really good... You'll love it... The characters are really good and the voice actors are really experienced.. famous ones like Romi Paku, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Akira Ishida and the one who did the voice for Amane Misa in Death Note is in it... So I bet you won't be disappointed with it...
Also, NANA has about 47 episodes which covers 42 chapters of the manga... The manga so far has 84 chapters and is available to read online on onemanga.com...

There are also 2 live-action movies... [which in my opinion suck] but it seems they were a big hit in Japan...
The manga right now is on hiatus because the author Yazawa Ai is ill..
But anyway that shouldn't stop you from watching the series it's really good...

Also NANA is not like any other romance anime you've seen... It's quite realistic and sometimes overwhelming... The anime opening songs are also really good.. There are 2 vocalists in the anime Nana O and Reira... Both of whose singing voices are done by Japanese singers Anna Tsuchiya and Olivia... Seriously, they picked the most suitable voices for them... Anyway I'm not going to add anymore spoilers coz that'll ruin the story...
